The Dawson
Project
The
Dawson Project is a proposal for Just Do It Now to serve as an
umbrella organization to organize and manage the Dawson
Elementary Campus as a multiuse facility that will benefit not
only the West End but the entire community.
JDIN
sees the Dawson property as a place to house new businesses and
provide accessible office space for various services. A
community survey along with input from various individuals has
suggested additional uses including:
-
Health and
Wellness—an exercise facility, workshops providing
information, training and support for those with diabetes,
STDs, teen pregnancy or even problems with obesity.
-

summer lunch program as well as an evening meal for youth
and possibly seniors
- Activities for:
- Family
-- movies, sports, games, etc;
- Elderly
– gathering place, cards, dominos, coffee, etc.;
- Children--
safe place to play or study, tutoring, mentoring,
- Support

- Meeting

and keeping a job, computer use and repair, possible
